Letters From Our School Leaders
Welcome to St. Joe’s. We are happy to help you answer any questions that you may have about the admission process. I hope that you, just like our current school families, find St. Joseph’s School to be the special place that it truly is.
As principal, it brings me great joy to see the students, faculty, staff, families, and parishioner supporters of St. Joseph’s School carry a deep-seated belief and confidence in our school. At our school, there is a community of people who are invested, selflessly working together daily to live out our mission. At the center of this work is our students. There is a purpose to our undertakings at St. Joseph’s that distinguishes us from other schools and impacts our students throughout their lives. Not only are we focused and vested in providing our students with excellent educations, but in helping them grow into excellent people. It is an honor to see our students live up to their school nickname – the Saints – on a daily basis through their great work in faith, leadership, and service. We hope that your visit to our website makes you feel welcome and encourages you to visit our school!
Thank You,
Laurie Johnson
Principal
Thank you for visiting our school’s website. Your children are treasured gifts from God. St. Joseph’s School exists to walk alongside parents in forming their child as they grow into adulthood. The Catholic Church teaches that “the special character of the Catholic School, the underlying reason for it, the reason why Catholic parents should prefer it, is precisely the quality of the religious instruction integrated into the education of the pupils.”
In the midst of our school days, our students pray, worship, talk about faith and join in serving others. This makes an incredible difference in their lives! Our dedicated teachers and administrators are committed to providing an excellent education. St. Joseph’s students have the benefit of small class sizes, a Catholic-Christian setting where Jesus is ever-present and acknowledged. In our school “family,” everyone knows each other’s names and protect each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. All this helps your child to thrive from pre-school to 8th grade.
Again, thank you for considering St. Joseph’s School for your children. You won’t be disappointed!
Your brother in Christ,
Fr. Nate Brunn
School Superintendent and Pastor of St. Joe’s Parish

St. Joe’s School is an investment for families; and we appreciate the sacrifices that families make to bring their children to a Christ-centered school. We understand it can be a heavy financial burden to parents, which is why we provide multiple ways to help make your child’s education affordable. It is surprising that parents only have to cover 50% of the actual cost to educate their children at St. Joe’s? Our costs are nearly 75% less than the average cost to educate a student in Minnesota! The other half of education costs are covered by our supporting parishes, endowments, Saints in the Community Partners, fundraisers, and generous donors. We are grateful that we can be such wonderful stewards of those gifts to keep a private education possible for all families.
St. Joe’s School is committed to assuring a Christ-centered education is realistic for all families who desire such a gift. Our tuition assistance program is available to all students enrolled in kindergarten through 8th grade and is unique to each individual family’s circumstance. Students in preschool who need tuition assistance can utilize Childcare Assistance funds from the state/county that the family resides.
This comprehensive handbook provides families with the guiding policies and procedures that guide St. Joe’s School in day-to-day operations.
Our school provides healthy meals each day. The United States Department of Agriculture is allowing schools to provide meals for the 2021-22 school year through a provision of the National School Lunch Program called the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). A waiver has been issued in order to support access to nutritious meals while minimizing potential exposure to COVD-19.
Our school has chosen to use this waiver and operate the SSO which enables us to provide meals free of charge for all students. No application is required to receive this free meal benefit.
However, your child(ren) may qualify additional benefits such as reduced fees or the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) which is a federal temporary emergency nutrition benefit that is loaded onto electronic cards for families to purchase food. At public schools, your application also helps the school qualify for education funds and discounts.
